There’s a person behind every small business, and for Young Mother Hibberd’s Cleaning Services, that person is Jade.
Starting a cleaning business might look like a completely new direction, but for Jade it is not about starting from scratch. It is the next step in a working life that has already included more than a decade of professional experience, management, customer service and working with people.

A career built around people

Jade began her professional career at Armadillo Self Storage, where she spent more than eight years as an Assistant Manager. It was a role that gave her a strong grounding in customer service, responsibility and the day-to-day running of a busy business.
After taking time away from work to be a full-time parent, Jade returned to the workplace in 2021 and continued to build her career.
She joined Dean & Wood as a Customer Service Advisor, before progressing to Branch Manager at HRP. She then moved into Beijer Ref UK, initially as Branch Manager and later as Area Operations Manager.
Across those roles, Jade gained experience in dealing with customers, managing people, organising operations and making sure things were done properly. They were very different businesses from cleaning, but the skills she developed along the way are just as relevant to the business she is building today.

A decision to do something of her own

After several years working in the refrigeration industry, Jade has decided to take a different path.
Her final week with Beijer Ref UK marks the end of a chapter she is genuinely proud of. She has enjoyed her time in the industry, built strong relationships with colleagues and customers, and learned a great deal along the way.
It is not a case of leaving because she stopped enjoying her career.
It is about wanting to build something for herself and her family.
For Jade, having the opportunity to create a business that fits around family life means she can be more present at home. One of the things she is most looking forward to is being able to take her little boy to school herself.
